The television clip “Hammer Horror” was the first official video of a performance by Kate Bush paired with a professional dancer.
The title and plot of the song - the story of an actor who unexpectedly received the main role of a Hunchback from Notre Dame and pursued by a former protagonist - is a kind of dedication to the British film studio Hammer Film Productions , specializing in "Gothic" horror films .
The note transcription of the song in the first printed edition of Kate Bush’s selected compositions The Best of Kate Bush (1980) was accompanied by the author’s comment: “At night on the set, alone, in the light of a single spotlight. But who is it in the shadows? ”( Eng. Alone on a film set at night with just one spotlight. But who is that in the shadows? ) [2] .
Side “B” of the single contained the 9th track from Lionheart's album - “Coffee Homeground”.
