Idahotyphlus alleni (lat.) - a species of staphillinids from the subfamily Leptotyphlinae . The only species of the genus. Endemic to the United States ( Idaho : Boise County, Valley County). Found in the forest litter layer near the base of large yellow pine ( Pinus ponderosa ). Beetles 1.4-1.7 mm long. The body is brownish yellow. Antennae 11-segmented. The formula of the legs is 3-3-3. The species was described by coleopterologist Vladimir Gusarov in 2003 and named after Albert Allen (AD Allen), who collected the type specimen in 1978 [1] .
