Flag of Cedar

“The flag of the municipality is a rectangular panel of white with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, in the center of which is a tongue of flame of blue curved to the pole and, next to it, a drop of black curved from the pole, above which is a red cedar branch directed from the pole with red cones and green needles. ”

The flag, in the language of symbols and allegories, harmoniously reflects the history of the formation of the city of Kedrovoy, its natural features and the main profile of the local population.

The white color of the cloth symbolizes ecology, cleanliness, the desire to preserve the surrounding nature.

A branch of cedar with cones indicates the name of the city of Cedar. Cedar is a symbol of strength, integrity, dignity, durability.

The blue tongue of the flame of natural gas and a black drop of oil symbolize natural wealth.

The first flag of the municipality “Kedrovy City” was approved on April 12, 2007 by the decision of the Kedrovoy City Council No. 23 “On Approving the Regulation on the Official Symbols of the Municipal Formation“ Kedrovy City “” ^[2] . The flag description read:

“The flag of the municipality is a rectangular cloth of white-green color with a ratio of the width of the flag to its length 2: 3. The canvas is divided into two fields: white and green, which corresponds to the fields in the coat of arms. In the center of the panel is placed the image of the coat of arms of the municipality without a heraldic shield measuring 1: 3 of its area. "

The symbolism of the flag is the same as for the flag of 2009, with the addition of the fact that: the green color of the flag symbolizes nature, the surrounding municipality, and forest wealth.

The Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation recommended changing the design of the coat of arms, which was a two-part coat of arms depicting independent heraldic figures. Such a method of drawing up the coat of arms is permissible only in the case of the merger of two cities, each of which had its own coat of arms. Since in this case there was no such merger, on November 19, 2009, by the decision of the City Council of Kedrovy No. 63 ^[1] , the new coat of arms and flag of the municipal entity “City of Kedrovy” were approved. ^[3]
