History
The village has been known since 1667 [1] .
It was a village of the Gorodnyansky district of the Chernigov province of the Russian Empire .
In January 1918, Soviet power was established here [1] .
During the Great Patriotic War in 1941 - 1943. the village was under German occupation [1] .
After the war, a monument-museum was opened in the village [1] .
In 1972, there were 1849 people and 649 yards, there was the central estate of the collective farm “13-rіchchy Zhovtnya”, specializing in the cultivation of grain, industrial crops and potatoes (on whose balance there were 4804 hectares of land, a brick factory, a sawmill and a greenhouse), there was a secondary school, a club, a hospital with 25 places, a first-aid post and a youth labor and rest camp "Birch" [1] .
In March 1989, the "Snov" agro-industrial association was created, which included 18 collective farms, 2 state farms and 16 other enterprises and organizations of the Shchorsky district (including the 13-richchya Zhovtnya collective farm and the inter-farm canning factory located in the village of Turya) [2] .
In 2001, the village population was 1185 people [3] .
