Content
Geographical position
Located on the right bank of Tsata at the confluence of Zheveda (along which the border with the Bryansk region of Russia passes).
It is located 29 km north of Snovsk , 77 km north-east of Chernihiv and 75 km south-west of Gomel .
History
It was a village of the Chernigov province of the Russian Empire .
In January 1918, Soviet power was established here [1] .
During the Great Patriotic War in 1941 - 1943. the village was under German occupation . On August 13, 1942, the Nazis burned down the village of Klyusy together with 128 residents [1] .
In 1971, there were 213 yards and 513 residents, the Druzhba collective farm, an eight-year school, a library, a people's museum of peoples' friendship, a club and a medical center were operating [1] .
After the independence of Ukraine, the village turned out to be on the border with Russia, it is in the zone of responsibility of the Chernihiv border detachment of the Northern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Administration [2] .
In 2001, the population was 286 people [3] .
In September 2010, a border crossing was opened near the village [4] .
There is a dead end access road from the Chernihiv- Novozybkov (Russia) highway from Khrenovka , passing through the village and ending with a bridge over Zheveda on the northern outskirts of the village (there is no hard-surfaced road on the Russian side).
