History
It was founded at the beginning of the 16th century by immigrants from Lithuania. For a long time the village belonged to the Apostle family and the last elected hetman of the Left-Bank Ukraine Daniil Apostol is listed among its owners. After the suppression of the family of the Apostles, the village passed to their relatives Sinelnikovs , and later with the Comstadians who became related with them.
In the nineteenth century it was part of the Holmen volost of the Sosnitsky district of the Chernigov province [2] .
In 1911-1913, Nikolai Nikolayevich Comstadius, based on sketches of Grand Duke Pyotr Nikolayevich [3] and the project of architect A. E. Belogrud ( P. E. Knyaginitsky [4] acted as his assistant), the Pokrovskaya church was built in the village. The iconostasis ordered by N. N. Comstadius in Greece was not delivered, since the ship carrying church property sank during the First World War. In 1934 the church was closed. A few years after the opening, the church in 2009 became the object of disagreement between the UOC-MP and the UOC-KP and currently belongs to the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine .
The two-story school building built by N. N. Comstadius has been preserved. The manor house of the Comstadius was burned in 1918.
