Biography
Born May 5, 1923 in the village of Gramozovka [1] in a peasant family. Graduated from 5 classes. Before the war, the family moved to Pavlovsky Posad . He worked at a weaving factory in Pavlovsky Posad . In the army since November 1941. In the army since January 1942. He graduated from political courses in 1944.
Feat
Guards Junior Lieutenant Shitikov I.P. on the night of April 26, 1945 as part of the 3rd rifle battalion under the command of the Guard Major Dorofeev A.V. and deputy battalion commander for political affairs V.N. Pankratov, among the first under heavy fire from the enemy crossed the Zeetif Strait , connecting the Baltic Sea with the Frisch-Gough Bay (Frishes-Huff) , landed on the shore of the Frisch -Nerung Spit . He inspired his comrades with a personal example in repelling numerous enemy counterattacks and in battles while holding the bridgehead. The battalion landed on the site indicated by the regiment commander , Lt. Col. Bankuzov , in order to seize the bridgehead on the coast and ensure the approach of the main forces of the division of General Peters G. B. A flurry of fire fell on the paratroopers. With the approach of the second echelon of the battalion under the command of Captain Chuguevsky L.Z. party organizer I. Shitikov raised his comrades in a counterattack. In this battle, he was seriously injured.
For the heroic battle on the bridgehead in May 1945, nine servicemen of the 3rd battalion of the 17th Guards Rifle Regiment (commander of the regiment Bankuzov, Anatoly Ivanovich ), including Major A.V. Dorofeev, were presented to the Hero of the Soviet Union rank. . Eight [2] soldiers and officers of the battalion received this title on June 29, 1945 [3] .
After the war he continued to serve in the army. In 1953, with the rank of major, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived and worked in the city of Pavlovsky Posad .
He died on March 15, 1995.
