The province was founded in 2004 from the territory of the former province of Can Tho. Previously, the capital was the city of Can Tho , which in 2004, together with the adjacent territories, became a city of central subordination equal in status to the province; the remaining territory formed the province of Khauzyang. Area - 1602 km²; the population for 2009 is 756 625 people [2] . The population density is 472.60 people / km².
