Swire Group is a UK-based diversified corporation headquartered in Hong Kong and registered office in London (parent company of John Swire & Sons [2] ). The Chinese name of the corporation is Taikoo (太古), which serves as the brand name for a number of Hong Kong and Chinese assets of the group [3] .

Content
History
The company was founded in 1816 in Liverpool by John Swire as a small trading house. In 1861, John Swire & Sons began to trade with China , and in 1866, together with partners, established the Butterfield & Swire company in Shanghai , which itself opened a branch in Hong Kong a few years later. Soon after the formation of the People's Republic of China (1949), Butterfield & Swire was forced to close all its Chinese branches, and in 1974 the owners renamed it John Swire & Sons (HK).

The main interests of the Swire Group are concentrated in the field of sea and air transportation, aviation service, logistics (especially warehouses and port refrigerators), residential and commercial real estate, hotel business, beverages and agribusiness. Swire Group's assets are located in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kenya, the United Kingdom, Denmark, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Russia.
Swire Pacific
The company is the main asset of the Swire Group in Hong Kong and is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange . As of March 2011, more than 100 thousand people worked in Swire Pacific, the market value of the corporation was 21.58 billion dollars, and sales - almost 4 billion dollars. Swire Pacific controls Cathay Pacific and Dragonair (Hong Kong Dragon Airlines), real estate operator Swire Properties, offshore oil and gas services company Swire Pacific Offshore Holdings, freight shipping company China Navigation Co and other subsidiaries. In addition, Swire Pacific is the largest bottler of the Coca-Cola brand in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and the western United States [3] .
Swire Properties
The company owns extensive residential, office and retail properties in Hong Kong ( TaiKoo Place , One Island East , Pacific Place , Island Shangri-La , Conrad International , Ocean Shores , Azura ), China, USA and the UK. Through a subsidiary of Swire Properties Hotel Holdings, it controls a network of hotels in Hong Kong, China and the UK.
Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company (HAECO)
The company is engaged in the maintenance and repair of aircraft and aircraft engines in Hong Kong , Xiamen , Shandong and Singapore , and also has assets in the production of aircraft components (HAECO ATE Component Service).
Hong Kong United Dockyard
A joint venture with Hutchison Whampoa , owns shipyards on the island of Zing Yi ( Khuaichin ).
