Thanh Hoa ( Vietnamese. Thanh Hóa , Thi-nom 淸 化 ) is a province in the north of central Vietnam .

Content
Geography
The province is located about 150 km south of Hanoi and 1560 km north of Ho Chi Minh City . The area is 11 133 km². The administrative center is the city of the same name Thanh Hoa . It borders with the provinces: Shonla (in the northwest), Hoabin (in the north), Ninbin (in the northeast) and Ngean (in the south), as well as with Laos (in the west).

According to 2013 data, the population is 3,788,578 people [1] . According to 2009 data, the population is 3,400,239 people [2] . The population density is 305.42 people / km².

Administrative Division
Administratively, it is divided into:
- one city of provincial subordination Thanh Hóa with a population of 179,324 inhabitants,
- two towns of local importance - Shamshon (Sầm Sơn) and Bimson (Bỉm Son)
- and 24 counties.
Attractions
- The Ho Dynasty Citadel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Vietnam.
- 50 km northwest of Thanh Hoa, in Thosuan County, is the Lamkin Fortress (also called Teikin - “Western Capital”), associated with the life of King Le Thai To (Le Loy), the leader of the Lamshon uprising in the 15th century [3] .
- About 16 km from the provincial capital is the resort town of Chamshon.
