Difference from Hadith
The meanings of the hadith kudsi were reproduced by the prophet Muhammad in his own words, but they came from Allah . The prophet could receive revelation through the angel Jibril , either through inexperienced insight ( ilham ) or sleep. Hadith kudsi, as well as Quranic verses were the result of Divine revelation, but according to the plan of Allah, they were not originally introduced into the Qur'an and did not enter into it. Unlike the verses of the Qur'an, hadith-kudsis begin with the words of Allah “O My slaves ...” and the message itself is preceded by the words: “the prophet conveyed what the Almighty and Great Lord said ...” [2] .
In the hadith kudsi, the miracles and inimitability inherent in the ayats of the Qur'an in form, style and content ( Ijaz al-Quran ) are absent , they were not transmitted in many ways by transmitters ( mutavatir ) and are known in single messages ( ahad ). Hadith kudsi are not read in prayer and their records can be touched in a state of ritual impurity [2] [1] .
Compared to ordinary hadiths ( hadith nabawi ), there are not so many hadith kudsis . Some Muhaddis collected them in separate collections , for example, Al-Itthafat al-Saniyah bi'l-Ahadis al-Qudsiya by Abdurrauf al-Munawi (1031/1622) [2] .
Examples
- According to Abu Zarr al-Gifari , may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet transmitted that the Almighty and Great Lord said: “Oh My servants, I have truly forbidden injustice to Myself and made it forbidden between you, so do not oppress your friend friend! ” [2] [3] .
