Janaba ( Arabic: جنابة - desecration) - in Islam - a state of ritual impurity; circumstances that violate ritual purity, requiring great purification. A person in this state is called junub [1] .
Violation of ritual purity comes from participating in defilement activities. Depending on the madhhab, assessments of the degree of desecration and the list of desecrating substances and objects is slightly different. The state of ritual impurity occurs after ejaculation and pollution (in men), menstruation and postpartum hemorrhage (in women), sexual intercourse [2] .
To cleanse, you must complete a full bath ( ghusl ). If desecration was sinful ( depraved acts, drunkenness, etc.), then the Muslim is charged with “the obligation to perform atonement and bring repentance” [3] .
In the condition of Janaba, a Muslim cannot be in a mosque, read the Qur'an and touch it, perform Hajj, Tawaf and prayer (except in special cases) [1] .
