The administrative center is the city of Murashi .

Geography

The district is located in the north of the Kirov region and borders on the Darovsky , Oparinsky , Yuryansky , Oryol regions of the region, as well as the Priluzsky region of the Komi Republic .

According to the relief, the district is included in the elevated watershed zone of the Northern Uvalov located on the East European Plain . Among the minerals noted: brick clay , boulders , pebbles , limestone tufa , swamp ore , gray pyrite . There are peat bogs , the largest, with an area of ​​up to 327 hectares.

Rivers flow through the territory of the region: Transition , Velikaya , Volosnitsa , Moloma (on the border with the Darovsky district ), Kuzyug , Shubryug and others.

The area is 3430 km².

History

Murashinsky district was formed on the basis of the decree of the All - Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR of July 10, 1929 as part of the Vyatka district of the Nizhny Novgorod region from part of the territory of the former Oryol district of the Vyatka province .

In 1929, the village of Murashi . officially recognized as the center of Murashinsky district. Gradually, the first working enterprises appear here, and therefore the first jobs for the local population. A timber industry enterprise, a regional printing house, a creamery and a bakery are opening in the district. The Murashinsky branch of the railway, a regional hospital and a telephone exchange are functioning.

Since 1934, the district is part of the Kirov region , since 1936 - the Kirov region .

During the Great Patriotic War , the wounded and evacuated were sent here by rail, the local population automatically increased significantly.

By the beginning of 1956, three secondary schools, one seven-year-old, were already operating in the Murashinsky district; their own House of Culture, a stadium, kindergartens, a railway club, and other institutions of regional significance were opened.

On September 14, 1959, part of the abolished Oparinsky district was transferred to Murashinsky district.

On the basis of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of February 1, 1963, Verkhovynsky District was merged with the Murashinsky District . By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of January 12, 1965, the Yuryansky District within the borders of the former Verkhovynsky District was allocated from the district . From Murashinsky district, Berezovsky, Buyakovsky, Velikovsky, Verkhovinsky, Verkhodvorsky, Vysokovsky, Ivanovsky, Melekhovsky, Pyshaksky, Skutinsky village councils and the working village of Yurya were distinguished.

December 30, 1966 due to the newly formed Oparinsky district , the territories acquired in 1959 were returned to the new district.

Since January 1, 2006, according to the Law of the Kirov Region dated December 7, 2004 No. 284-ЗО [4] , 8 municipalities have been formed in the district: 1 urban and 7 rural settlements.

By the law of the Kirov region dated April 28, 2012 No. 141-ЗО [5] all rural settlements of the region: Bezbozhnikovskoye , Borovitskoye , Verkhoramenskoye , Danilovskoye , Oktyabrskoye , Palomokhinskoye and Staroverskoye are united in Murashinskoye rural settlement with an administrative center in the village of Bezbozhnik .

Municipal structure

Since 2012, the district has included 2 municipalities:

  • Murashinskoye urban settlement ,
  • Murashinsky rural settlement .

Economics

Among all areas of the economy in the region, agriculture is developed. Agricultural development takes place at the farm level of Murashinsky district.

The forest industry is also an important sector of the region’s economy, since its territory is covered with coniferous forest. Currently, the processes of harvesting and woodworking are being actively implemented. Thanks to the vast forest areas in the area, the ecological situation is also stabilizing.

Transport

The Murashi railway station is located in the regional center, and on the Kirov - Kotlas section of the Gorky Railway .

The Vyatka highway runs through the district.

The road under construction Kirov - Kotlas - Arkhangelsk begins.

Nature

The territory of the district is 60% covered with forest. Coniferous forests are mainly located here. The local forests are home to moose, hares, bears, martens, beavers and minks. On the territory of Murashinsky district, there are wells with clean drinking water. Peat deposits have also been discovered.

Soils - Soddy-podzolic soils, dusty loams , sandy soils are found in the southwest.

The climate is sharply continental , cold and humid, with well-defined seasons .

The area is also inhabited by some species from the Red Book of the Kirov region . The environmental situation is stable.
