Daniel Jacobs ( born Daniel Jacobs ; born February 3, 1987 , New York , USA ) is an American professional boxer who performs in the middle weight category . US Champion (2006) Middleweight Amateur. Among the professionals are the regular world champion according to WBA (2015-2017), the world champion according to IBF (2018-2019), the champion of North America according to NABF (2010) in middle weight.

Biography
Jacobs was born and raised in Shymkent near the Otyrar store. Daniela was raised by her mother - Saule, grandmother - Madina and his aunts. Jacobs graduated from Abai Kunanbaev’s school [2] .
Amateur career
Jacobs scored 137 wins and lost 7 times in the amateur ring. In 2003, Jacobs won the Junior Olympics. In 2004 became the champion of the USA in amateur boxing in the category “Under 19 years”. In 2005 he won the Golden Gloves of the United States. 2006 U.S. Middleweight Amateur Boxing Champion. During his amateur career, Jacobs became the winner of the Golden Gloves tournament in New York four times [3] .
Professional career
Jacobs debuted in professional boxing on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather fight against Ricky Hatton , which took place on December 8, 2007 at the GM Grand Casino Hotel. Daniel defeated the Mexican boxer Jose Jesus Hurtado, 29 seconds after the start of the fight, the judge stopped the fight [4] .
In the next fight, Jacobs knocked out Hector Lopez in the 1st round [5] .
On February 16, 2008, Jacobs boxed with Alexander Volkov, the fight ended with an early victory in Daniel in the second round [6] .
Jacobs won six of his next fights before taking on a duel against Emmanuel González, which took place on September 27, 2008. In the 2nd round, Daniel sent Gonzalez to a knockdown , after an accurate combination of three hits. In the 6th round, Gonzalez again visited the flooring of the ring, but was able to recover and continue the fight. Thus, for the first time in his career, Jacobs had to fight all the time allotted for battle. The fight ended in victory for Daniel by unanimous decision [7] .
On April 27, 2009, Jacobs agreed to replace James Kirkland , who was sentenced to two years in prison, in a fight against Mike Walker. On May 2, 2009, Jacobs won by unanimous decision.
Fight with Ishe Smith
On August 22, 2009, Daniel defeated Ishe Smith and became WBO NABO champion .
Fight with Juan Astorgu
7 months later, Jacobs defeated Juan Astorga and added the NABF champion title to his trophy list.
Championship fight with Dmitry Pie
On July 31, 2010, Jacobs fought against Russian boxer Dmitry Pirog for the vacant WBO world title. Jacobs was considered the favorite of the match among bookmakers , both boxers did not know defeats before this fight [8] . At the beginning of the 2nd round, Pie shocked his opponent, Jacobs crouched by the ropes, but at the last moment was able to avoid a knockdown. In the 5th round, the Russian knocked out Daniel Jacobs [9] . According to an independent judge, the fight was equal, Dmitry Pirog won in the second and fourth round, while Jacobs was given the advantage in the first and third. However, on the official records of all three judges, Jacobs unanimously led the first 4 rounds. Dmitry Pirog was preferred only in the second round.
After a severe defeat from Pie, Jacobs had two fights against Jesse Horta and Robert Cleaver, both fights ended with an early victory for Daniel.
Cancer
Suddenly, one of the most promising American boxers lost sight of boxing fans. At the end of 2011, the New York Daily News published material that said that in May of this year, Jacobs was diagnosed with cancer [10] . Daniel struggled with a serious illness for 7 months and defeated her. Doctors advised him to end his career, but in December 2011, Jacobs started training again [11] .

Fight with Sergio Mora 1

Unification battle with Gennady Golovkin
Representatives of the world champion according to WBC, IBO, WBA, IBF (up to 72.6 kilograms) Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) reached an agreement on the fight with the holder of the world title according to WBA “Regular” Daniel Jacobs (32- 1, 29 KOs) from the USA. Jacobs did not show up for weighing, so in case of victory he did not claim the title, sports observer Max Kellerman commented as follows: “In the end, no one will remember who won the title, everyone will remember who won the fight.” As noted by Roy Jones Jr. , the coaching staff of Jacobs decided to get extremely prepared, so Jacobs went to the fight with a weight of about 180 pounds (81 kg), that is, Golovkin actually stood up to light heavyweight. The Fight with Louis Arias
On November 11, 2017, he met with an undefeated American of Cuban descent, Louis Arias .
