Biography
He studied mathematics at the University of Gottingen , Berlin University and at Albertina in Königsberg , and was a professor of mathematics in Bonn and Halle . While working in Halle, he was primarily concerned with potential theory, function theory, and differential equations. He died on October 21, 1881 . Buried in Galle.
The Cantor – Heine theorem , the Heine – Borel theorem , and the definition of the limit of a function by Heine are named after him.
