Daughtry - the debut studio album of the American rock band Daughtry , whose frontman is the finalist of season 5 of the American Idol show Chris Dothry , published in 2006 . The release was the fastest selling rock album in the history of the Soundscan sales record system [2] .

About the album
Daughtry was released on November 21, 2006. The first single from the album was the song “ It's Not Over ”, co-authored by another American Idol member, Ace Young, and Course of Nature vocalist Mark Wilkerson. The single reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. [3] The song was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008 in the categories Best Rock Song and Best vocal rock performance by a duet or group , and the album itself was nominated Best Rock Album . The CD also won the American Music Award 2007 in the Pop Rock Album category. More than 4 million copies were sold, Billboard recognized him as one of the best-selling albums of 2007 [4] [5] .
The Daughtry album received both positive and negative reviews from music critics; most reviews gave a positive response to the disc as the first rock album from a member of the American Idol show ; The highlight of the negative feedback was an indication of lack of originality and commercial sound. For example, USA Today noted the similarity of the album with the work of the groups Fuel , Nickelback , Staind [6] .
