Named after the 26th US President Theodore Roosevelt , the hotel was built with private donations from famous Hollywood personalities, including Douglas Fairbanks , Mary Pickford and Louis Meyer . Construction of a 12-storey building cost $ 2.5 million ($ 31.6 million at the current exchange rate)
May 15, 1927 the hotel opened its doors for the first time for guests. In 1929, the hotel hosted the first Oscar awards ceremony.
After the 2005 reconstruction , “Hollywood Roosevelt” is experiencing a peak of popularity among the younger generation. Blame it all - a trendy nightclub "Teddy", located on the first floor of the hotel [1] [2] .
