Alekshupitsky Falls ( Latvian. Alekšupītes ūdenskritums ) is a waterfall located in Kuldiga , on the Aleksupite River , which flows into the Venta River . Height - 4.15 m , width - 8 m . It is the highest waterfall in Kurzeme , the second highest in Latvia . Above the waterfall there is a bridge, as well as a mill dam. It is believed that it was built in the 13th century along with the castle. In the 17th century, it was strengthened in order to rotate the wheel, which activated the first paper mill in Kurzeme .
