Arena-North is a multifunctional sports and entertainment complex in Krasnoyarsk . Regional state institution. Located in the Soviet district of the city. It is the main arena for the local hockey team Sokol , as well as a venue for concerts and other mass cultural and entertainment events. It is assumed that, together with other existing and planned for reconstruction or construction of the city facilities for winter sports and the Siberian Federal University “Arena. North ”will be the base for the XXIX World Winter Universiade-2019 . The arena can be transformed both into a hockey rink and a basketball one [1] .

Operation
In 2011-2018 It was a home arena for Krasnoyarsk hockey teams of HC Sokol and the Krasnoyarsk Lynx Art and Culture Complex . From 2018 serves as a permanent home arena only for the basketball club "Yenisei" . In March 2019 , ice hockey and short track competitions were held at the arena as part of the 2019 Winter Universiade .
Arena Opening and First Match
In Krasnoyarsk, on December 20, the long-awaited ice palace “Arena. North". The first to try out the new ice were the leaders of the summary table of the VHL - the ice hockey club Rubin from Tyumen . The home team, the Krasnoyarsk Sokol, opened the scoring in the very first minute of the meeting, but failed to develop and maintain the advantage. The final score is 2: 5 in favor of Rubin. This opening match of the Arena North was visited by the managing director of VHL German Skorupupov. The next day, the second game took place at the new site, in which “Falcon” also received “Rubin”. But this time the luck did not smile to Krasnoyarsk and the game was completed with a score of 0: 3 in favor of the guests.
Arena Infrastructure
Ice Palace includes four blocks. The first block is the ice arena itself, where the ice field (30 x 61 m) is located with the number of spectators 3.5-4 thousand people, lobbies, foyer, recreation, a wardrobe, four changing rooms with showers, judges, technical and auxiliary rooms, a cafe and restaurant, dance and training halls. In the second block there will be a universal sports hall (48 x 24m), two changing rooms with showers, service and technical rooms. The third block consists of sections containing a training room for training sessions, a gym. In the fourth block there are stands and a rock climbing simulator with a height of 15 m.
