Biography
Sinclair was born on May 10, 1969 in Paris , France . The name Bob Sinclair is a pseudonym chosen for the hero Belmondo from the movie “ Magnificent ”.
DJ Sinclair began his career at the age of 17 under the name Chris- French Kiss . He played dance music: funk and hip-hop . The first club hit was the joint with Toma Bangalte composition “Gym Tonic”, using Jane Fonda's illegally taken from a cassette tape recording.
Le Frian popularized the French house , using a more complex sound, which brought him great popularity. With his track “I Feel For You” from the second album “Champs Elysées”, which took 9th place in the “ UK Singles Chart ”, he paid tribute to French musician Cerrone . Above the track "Darlin" Sinclair worked with vocalist D-Train .
Le Frian is known by various pseudonyms. Among hip-hop and acid jazz, he appeared as the “Mighty Bop” (sometimes the “Mighty Bop”), and sometimes as the “Reminiscence Quartet”. He created a project called “Africanism All Stars” with the participation of well-known house musicians, combining Latin, jazz, and musical rhythms of African tribes.
In 2005, the single “Love generation” took the first line in the charts of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Hungary and Mexico, placed on the second position in the Netherlands and lasted 39 weeks in the Belgian charts “ Ultratop ”. In a number of other countries, such as Argentina, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, "Love generation" entered the top 15.
The track “Love generation” became one of the official hymns of the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Following the hit "World, Hold On", with the participation of Steve Edwards, also managed to climb to the top positions of most European hit parades. Then on August 22, 2006, “Rock This Party” (“Everybody Dance Now”) appeared. A year later, the DJ remix of E-smoove to the single “World, Hold On” was nominated for a Grammy Award in the “Record in a New Arrangement” category. In addition, “World, Hold On” was recognized as the best club dance hit of 2006 according to the version of Billboard magazine, leaving Madonna and Christina Aguilera behind. It was assumed that the 4th single of the album “Western Dream” entitled “Tennessee” will be released in April 2007, but rumors spread that the album had already gone to the masses, and the release of the single had to be canceled.
It became almost mandatory for Bob to involve outside vocalists. In May 2007, Sinclair released a new album entitled “Sounds of Freedom”. The remix of the song "Rock This Party" reached the top position in the hit parade of the magazine "Billboard". In the same vein, the next CD “Born in 69”, released on May 7, 2009, was sustained, the most famous single from there was the track “Lala Song”, recorded with the participation of the hip-hop pioneers “ The Sugarhill Gang ”.
Released in 2010, the album “Made in Jamaica” included two new compositions “I Wanna”, recorded together with Shaggy , and “Rainbow of Love”, besides its best reggae hits, “Love Generation”, “Give A Lil 'love. At the 53rd Grammy Awards, the album was nominated for "Best Reggae Album". This was Bob Sinclair’s second nomination. In November 2010 a joint track with Shaun Paul - “Tik Tok”. His passages are the most recognizable riffs in the world.
In the summer of 2011, a remix of Rafaella Carra ’s hit “A far l'amore comincia tu” (You start making love), the final title of the single “Far l'amore” (Making Love) .
At the moment, Bob Sinclair is working with British singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor on another dance hit.
During the 2018 World Cup, Bob Sinclair worked as a DJ in Moscow on a tourist visa. In this regard, Russian lawyer Alexander Khaminsky turned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation with a request to verify compliance with Russian legislation [2] [3] [4] .
