Buddha Air Pvt. Ltd. (Buddha Ayr, Nepalsk. बुद्ध एयर ) is a Nepalese airline headquartered in the city of Lalitpur . [1] The company operates flights across Nepal, mainly between major cities, linking Kathmandu with nine other destinations. The company also provides sightseeing flights to Everest .

Buddha Air's ATR 42 at Pokhara Airport
The airline began operations in October 1997 on new Beechcraft 1900D aircraft . From August 23, 2010, flights to the Kingdom of Bhutan ( Paro Airport ) began. [2]

Aviation accidents
On September 25, 2011, the Buddha Air plane disappeared from radar during an excursion flight to Mount Everest. The Beech 1900D with 19 passengers aboard crashed while landing. 16 tourists and 3 crew members died. [four]
