Alma-Ata is a Kazakhstani football club from Almaty that functioned in 2000-2008, in 2004-2008 played in the top division of the Kazakhstan Football Championship, is the owner of the 2006 Kazakhstan Football Cup . It was disbanded in 2008 due to financial problems, having teamed up with the Megasport football club in the new Lokomotiv football club.

History
The club was organized in 2000 under the name FC Tsesna. Since 2003, he participated in tournaments of masters, in 2004 he changed his name to Alma-Ata. The club held home games at the Central Stadium of Almaty.
Since 2004, the club participated in the top division of the Kazakhstan football championships. The best of the club's seasons is 2006, when the club finished the season in fifth place in the standings and won the Kazakhstan Football Cup . Thanks to the victory in the Cup, the team qualified for the UEFA Cup 2007/08, in which they dropped out after the first qualifying round. The club played with the Slovakian FC “ViOn Zlate Moravec” , lost one game to him with a score of 1: 3, and the second drew (1: 1).
At the end of the 2008 season, Alma-Ata, thanks to its participation in the Kazakhstan Cup finals, won the right to participate in the UEFA Cup, but on December 15, 2008, the club management announced its disbandment [1] . Subsequently, the association of Alma-Ata and Megasport was announced and the creation of a new Lokomotiv football club [2] .
