Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications

The Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications ( Turkmen. Türkmen döwlet ulag we aragatnaşyk instituty ) is the abolished higher educational institution of Turkmenistan . It trained specialists in higher and secondary vocational education for railway transport and other sectors of the national economy . The structure of the university included 12 departments.

The rector of the university from 2012 to 2019 was Kuliev Nurnepes Annaevich [1] .

History

The Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications trained highly qualified personnel for the entire transport and communications system of the country. More than 1350 students studied at the 4 faculties of the institute. More than 140 teachers worked at the institute's departments.

On June 12, 2019, on the Day of Science of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on the abolition of the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications and the creation on its basis of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan , which became the legal successor of the university [2] [3] . Nurnepes Annaevich Kuliev, who held a similar position in the abolished institute, became the rector of the new educational institution [4] [5] .

New Building

In Ashgabat, on September 1, 2009, the new building of the institute was commissioned. The complex consists of a multi-storey administrative building, eight educational buildings, several gyms. [6]
