Ischnomantis (lat.) Is a genus of insects from the family of real praying mantis (Mantidae) [2] .

Description
The thighs of the first pair of legs carry 5 external spines. Supraanal plate is very long, lanceolate [3] . Protorax is several times longer than its width. The ventrolateral spines of the front tibia are vertical or sloping, more or less distant from each other [4] . The largest species is Ischnomantis gigas : the female, found in Africa, had a record length of 17 cm for praying mantises [5] .
They are found in Africa [6] .
