Beit Tshuva

Beit-Tshuva (House of Repentance) is one of two religious communities in Birobidzhan , founded in 1996 on the basis of the Birobidzhan Synagogue of Traditional Judaism and is a member of the Congress of Jewish Religious Communities and Unions of Russia ( KEROOR ). Israel (Oleg) Shavulsky, a native of Birobidzhan, was elected the first chairman, Chaim Guzman served as rabbi for some time, and since 2002 the chairman of the acting chairman. Rabbi is a native of the village of Birofeld, Birobidzhan district, Dov (Boris Vladimirovich) Kofman.
