Zogu ( Alb. Zogu ) is a noble Albanian family from which Ahmet Zogu came, proclaimed King of the Albanians in 1928, but displaced 11 years later.

Ahmet Zogu insisted on being descended from Zogu Pasha , whom the Sultan had appointed the governor of the Mati district in northern Albania. The zogu's family nest was the fortified house of Burgayet .
After the Italian invasion, the Albanian crown was tried on by the Italian king Victor Emmanuel III . At the end of the war, communists came to power in Albania, and a republican form of government was established in the country.
Ahmet Zogu died in 1961, after which his son Lek , who lived in South Africa , declared himself "king in exile." After his death in 2011, his son born in 1982, who calls himself Leka II, inherited the claim to the Albanian throne.
