Lost!

“Lost!” Is a song by the British rock band Coldplay , released as the third single from Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends on November 10, 2008 and produced by Brian Eno . Although the song did not have much commercial success, like previous singles from the album, it received positive reviews from critics.

Release History and Acceptance of Critics

 
Chris Martin performs “Lost!” During the Viva la Vida Tour

Lost! was released as a promotional single in September 2008 . On November 10 of the same year, it was officially announced that the song would be released as a full single from the album [1] .

There are several versions of the song:

  • Lost! - landscape version
  • “Lost?” - the song is performed only by Chris Martin, accompanying himself on the piano. This version is available as a bi-side for Violet Hill , as well as in the Japanese, iTunes Store and Amazon MP3 versions of Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends .
  • “Lost +” is an album version, rewritten with the participation of rapper Jay-Z [2] (who took his speech on the Funkmaster Flex show for the Hot 97 radio station as the basis for rap). It was first performed on October 16, 2008 on BBC Radio 1 [3] ; was performed by Chris Martin with Jay-Z at the 51st Grammy Awards . Entered Prospekt's March mini-album.
  • "Lost-" - instrumental album version
  • “Lost @” is a recording of a speech at the United Center , Chicago , July 22, 2008.

The song was well received by critics. The song was praised by a number of publications: NME [4] , Pitchfork Media and Peter Gabriel . Will Hermes from Rolling Stone considered her “the most majestic pop moment in the album” [5] .
