Biography
The stage activity began in 1879 in Tiflis. She performed in various Armenian troupes, touring the cities of Transcaucasia. Student of the founders of the Armenian theater of modern times G. Chmshkyan and G. Sundukyan .
Developed realistic principles in the Armenian scene. The performances of the residents of Tiflis Shushan, Khumperi, Khakho (“Pepo” by G. Sundukyan, “Khababala”, “Ruined Hearth”) are highly appreciated as in a dramatic or comic repertoire. Contemporaries liked the game of Vardui, her choice of details of the characters of the generations of old Tiflis: dialect, dress and style. The role of Kukushkina (“Profitable Place” by A. N. Ostrovsky) was played with great success. In 1922, at the opening of the 1st State Theater of Armenia, she played the role of Shushany (“Pepo” by Sundukyan). In the same due to illness left the scene. She died on March 14, 1945 in Tbilisi.
