Title

The Russian botanical name of the genus Impatiens , like the generic lat. Impatiens ( im- the negation prefix and patientia - patience, endurance, endurance) are associated with the property of ripened fruits with a bang to unfold and shoot the seeds when touched. Another generic name Balsam ( fr. Balsamine , lat. Balsamino , from the Greek. Βάλσαμον , derived from the Arabic. Balasan - balsam), which gave the name to the whole family Balsamic , more often applies to fragrant tropical tropical species and varieties.

In nature, members of the genus are found mainly in subtropical and tropical regions of Asia and Africa.
