The inner region ( Malaysian. Bahagian Pedalaman ) is one of the regions in the Malaysian state of Sabah on the island of Kalimantan .

Geography
The region is located in the southwestern part of the state, and covers 18,298 km², which is 24.9% of the state.
Population
According to the Malaysian Department of Statistics, in 2006, 420,800 people lived in the Inner Region, representing approximately 14.7% of the population of Sabah.

The inner area is divided into seven districts :
- Beaufort
- Nabavan
- Keningau
- Kuala Peña
- Sipitang
- Tambunan
- Tenom
Transportation
The only contact with the outside world is the runway at Long Pasia in the southern part of the region on the border with Indonesia .
