Readings by Adam Smith is a socio-political forum dedicated to political and economic freedoms. Since 2010, traditionally held in major cities of Russia and gathers supporters of libertarianism . The organizers are the Adam Smith Market Research Center.

The Reading Sections were named after the names of the works of Adam Smith:
Part One: The Wealth of Nations . It is devoted to economic problems, considered from the point of view of the supporters of freedom. Among the topics raised in this part, such as: economic crisis, inflation, the crisis of the economic mainstream, the role of the Austrian economic school , etc.
Part two: Moral feelings . Which discusses the ethical and legal issues of substantiating principles. Topics covered: Law and freedom, the principle of non-aggression, ethics, philosophy and psychology of freedom, natural law, etc.
Part Three: Political Rhetoric. During which issues of effective promotion of ideas, political agitation and the popular interpretation of libertarian ideas to ordinary citizens are considered. Topics: Minarchism and Anarcho-capitalism , whether America missed a chance, a strategy for promoting the ideas of freedom.
History
The first Readings of Adam Smith took place in Moscow on October 16, 2010 and were organized by the Libertarian Party of Russia together with the Center for Philosophy of Freedom . The second Readings took place in St. Petersburg on April 2, 2011, the organizers were former members of the St. Petersburg cell of the Libertarian Party, the organizers of the first readings took part as speakers and spectators. The Third Readings took place on November 12, 2011 in Moscow in the building of the NRU HSE . The readings were again organized by activists of the LPR, the Center for Philosophy of Freedom, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and several other organizations.
The Fourth Readings took place in Moscow on October 20, 2012. Starting from the fourth Readings, the organizer is the Adam Smith Market Research Center.
On November 5, 2017, the Ninth Readings of Adam Smith were held in the conference room of the Higher School of Economics . Several participants and listeners of the Readings Adam Smith who went out for lunch (including Mikhail Svetov, the speaker at the Readings, and Mikhail Pozharsky, section moderator) were detained by the police [1] [2] .
