Biography
Born on July 31, 1921 in the village of Podgorenka (now - the Ekaterinovsky district of the Saratov region ). In 1933, parents fleeing hunger, moved to Siberia.
In 1939, after graduating from nine classes, he entered the Irkutsk Teachers Institute, in 1940 he transferred to Irkutsk State University , which he graduated with honors in 1945. A student of a major literary critic Mark Konstantinovich Azadovsky .
Since 1948, he began teaching at the philological department of ISU . In 1950 he defended his thesis on the theme “The creative path of E. Bagritsky ” at IMLI named after A. M. Gorky in Moscow.
He headed the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature at ISU , then - the Department of Soviet Literature (renamed the Department of Contemporary Russian Literature).
At the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, he led the university literary circle edited by the Irkutsk University newspaper, which was attended by playwright Alexander Vampilov , poet Anatoly Prelovsky , prose writers Valentin Rasutin , Kim Balkov , Anatoly Shastin , Buryat literary critic and critic Vasily Naydakov, lyricist Kim Ilyin [2] .
In 1962 he was admitted to the Union of Writers of the USSR .
In 1966 he was awarded the title of professor.
In 1970 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Ways of development of the literary movement of Siberia (1900-1932)."
Together with Valentin Rasputin , Gennady Gaida , Anatoly Kobenkov, he was a member of the Book lovers Club, which was led by Mark Sergeyev [3] .
In 1979, he joined the editorial board of the book series “ Literary Monuments of Siberia ” of the East Siberian Book Publishing House ( Irkutsk ).
In 1982 he was awarded the title Honored Scientist of the RSFSR.
In 1995, he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of ISU .
He devoted more than 50 years to the study of literary processes in Siberia.
Vasily Trushkin died on August 16, 1996 in Irkutsk. He was buried in the Smolensk cemetery.
Creativity
Since 1939, it began to print.
Published in the anthology “ New Siberia ”, the magazine “ Siberian Lights ”, the newspapers “ East Siberian Truth ” and “ Soviet Youth ”.
In 1957, the first brochure, “A. N. Tolstoy on the social nature of art and literature. ”
In 1961, the first book "Literary Portraits" was published, dedicated to the work of Gabriel Kungurov , Innocent Lugovsky , Konstantin Sedykh , Franz Taurin .
In 1965, the monograph “Siberian Partisan and Writer P. P. Petrov ” was published.
In 1972-1978 he created an extensive panorama of the literary forces of Siberia in a trilogy published in Irkutsk:
- Ways and Fates, 1972.
- From flame and light, 1976.
- Ascent, 1978.
He created literary portraits of Vladimir Zazubrin , Isaac Goldberg , Alexander Balin , Vasily Nepomnyashchi , Mikhail Skuratov and many others. Re-opened the works of Dmitry Glushkov , Igor Slavnin and many others.
In the 1980s, he initiated preparation, became the compiler (together with V. Volkova), scientific editor and author of a number of articles in the bibliographic dictionary “Literary Siberia” (1986, 1988), which covers the work of writers of Eastern Siberia from the middle of the 18th to the second half of the 20th century and remains the only complete reference [4] . The reference book was supposed to be three-volume, but the third volume did not come out.
