Biography

Born in a believing family. Named in honor of his grandfather, the mitrophoric archpriest Vladimir Vorobyov , who died in prison in 1940.

In 1959 he entered the Physics Department of Moscow State University , which he graduated in 1965. In 1965-1966 he worked at Moscow State University, then since 1968 he studied at graduate school [1] .

Since 1970 he worked in the Computing Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences . In 1973 he graduated from graduate school, in the same year he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences "Analytical and numerical solution of one class of spatial contact problems of the theory of elasticity" [2] .

Pupil of the long-term rector of the St. Nicholas-Kuznetsk Church Archpriest Vsevolod Shpiller . In 1978 he entered the Moscow Theological Seminary [1] .

March 18, 1979 he was ordained deacon , April 30 - a priest [3] , after which he served as a clergyman in the church of St. Nicholas at the Preobrazhensky cemetery [1] .

He graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary (1980) and the Moscow Theological Academy (1982). He has no academic degrees in theology.

In 1984 he was transferred to the clergy of the Church of the Assumption in Veshnyaki [1] . In 1990 he was appointed clergyman of the St. Nicholas-Kuznetsk Church. Since October of that year - the confessor of the brotherhood organized at the church in the name of the Most Merciful Savior. He became one of the organizers of the Theological and Catechetical Courses [1] .

In the spring of 1991, the rector of the Theological and Catechetical Courses, Archpriest Gleb Kaleda, in connection with his appointment as head of the sector in the newly formed Synodal Department of Religious Education and Catechesis, asked to be relieved of his post as rector; on May 29, at a meeting of the educational council of Theological and Catechetical courses, he was elected by secret ballot the new rector [4 ] . He retained his post after the conversion of courses to the Theological Institute in 1992. Since 1997 - professor .

On September 12, 1997, he was appointed rector of the St. Nicholas-Kuznetsk Church [3] and the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Vishnyaki attributed to him, the house gymnasium church of the Holy Martyr Peter (Polyansky), the house church in the Diocesan House in Likhovy Lane [1] .

In 2004, the PSTBI was transformed into the Orthodox St. Tikhon Humanitarian University (PSTU).

A member of the Synodal Commission for the Canonization of Saints , he leads the preparation for the glorification of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia , which takes place within the framework of the PSTU.

Since 2002, he has been simultaneously the deputy chairman of the study committee at the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church .

Since 2004 - Member of the Synodal Theological Commission . Since 2015 - Chairman of the Federal Educational and Methodological Association in the higher education system in an enlarged group of specialties and areas of training "48.00.00 Theology" [5] .

Member of the editorial board of the scientific and theological almanac " Theological Works ."

On February 1, 2017, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was included in the composition of the then created organizational committee for the implementation of the program of church-wide events for the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the era of persecution of the Russian Orthodox Church [6] .

Family

Grandson of Archpriest Vladimir Nikolaevich Vorobyov (his full namesake), rector of the Church of St. Nicholas in Plotniki .

Daughter - Catherine, married Emelyanova. Husband Nikolai Emelyanov, priest, son of Nikolai Evgenievich Emelyanov .

Son - Nikolai, he graduated from the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M.Sechenov and the Moscow Scientific Research Institute named after P.A.

Daughter - Varvara (married to Artamkin), a music teacher, married to Dmitry Artamkin, a mathematics teacher (son of Igor Artamkin , an ordinary professor at the HSE Department of Mathematics ). On November 10, 2007, at the age of 29, she gave birth to five daughters at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford - Elizabeth, Alexander, Nadezhda, Tatyana, and Barbara. Delivery by caesarean section is 14 weeks ahead of schedule. The operation was attended by 18 doctors and nurses who worked in shifts. [7] July 12, 2018 Dmitry Igorevich Artamkin was ordained to the rank of deacon.

Son - Ivan, priest, candidate of historical sciences, teacher of PSTGU.
