Biography
Örsle Celman was born in the Bessarabian Jewish town of Kapreshty on the banks of the Reut River (now Floresti district of Moldova ) in the family of Moishe and Zloté Celman. He studied at the header , since 1931 - at the Chernivtsi Teacher's Seminary (Yiddish and Hebrew teachers) along with other future writers Ichil Schreibman , Leiser Podryachik , Meer Kharaz and Barle Roisen . He began to print in Hebrew poems during his years at the seminary.
After graduating from the seminary, he moved to Bucharest , where he published poems in Yiddish. In the late 1930s. in Bucharest, Inainem Publishing House ( Together ) published 3 poetry collections in Yiddish, including the great poem Blut ( Blood ). Hebrew poems were published in the Ha-Olam newspaper ( Mir , Berlin ) - probably the only Hebrew writer in Bessarabia who published exclusively outside the province.
After the transition of Bessarabia to the USSR, he lived in Kapreshty, but was no longer printed. With the beginning of World War II, he was called up to the road construction battalion, and by the end of the war he was transferred to the reconstruction work along with the battalion in Bashkiria .
After the war, he served in the post of commandant of the Ufa plant Stroymontazh. Since 1959, he worked as a gas tanker and warehouse worker in the construction and assembly train No. 147 in Ufa ; retired on June 6, 1972 and died on October 5 of that year. He did not make any attempts to publish his works in the USSR. Unpublished manuscripts and the writer's archive were preserved by his son.
