Roadside art
According to the Percentage For Arts Scheme , 1% of the construction budget is allocated for roadside art (with a ceiling of 63,000 euros). Local authorities choose a topic and are responsible for commissioning works, as a rule, through an open competition [2] . On M1, within the framework of this program, in the Balbriggan area, there are three beehives carved out of their stones, based on the legend of the beekeeper St. Molach [3] , and a three-meter bull, symbolizing the bull from " Kidnapping a Bull from Kualge " [4] .
