The Brunei Museum [1] is the national museum of Brunei located in the country's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan .

The museum exposition acquaints tourists with the culture and customs of the local population, the history of the Sultanate, the formation of the oil and gas industry of Brunei.
The halls present unique examples of the Koran, ancient ceramics, carpets, glass and copper products, antique cannons and daggers, ancient treasures found at the shipwreck off the coast of Brunei.
Among the exhibits are such rare items as a 19th-century Turkish boot with a compass sewn into a sock; mother-of-pearl model of the rotunda "Holy Sepulcher" in Jerusalem; bowls for collecting alms "kashgul" of the X century; armor and whip with a handle studded with diamonds from the time of the Mughals.
Since 1969, the museum has published the academic journal Brunei Museum Journal .
