Biography
Born on January 3, 1898 in the village of Terebin Hrubieszhov district, Kholmsk province (now the Hrubieshovsky county of the Lublin province ) in the family of Andrei Metyuk and his wife Yulia (from the Abram family).
I attended school in my native village. In 1924 he graduated from the Vilna Theological Seminary .
In 1929 he graduated from the Theological Faculty of the University of Warsaw with the title of Master of Theology.
On September 21, 1924, he was ordained deacon . On September 27, he was ordained as a priest by Metropolitan Dionysius (Valeinsky) in the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene in Warsaw .
He was appointed first abbot of the , administrator of the Zherotinsky parish, and at the same time the dean of the Belskoplyasly okrug [1] . Subsequently, he became the prior of the in Hrubieshov and a deacon in the Hrubieshev district with the duties of the law instructor at the Grubeshev school. He was engaged in the religious-national education of the Ukrainian youth, being a teacher in the national, secondary and higher schools; in 1943 he became a professor and rector of the Kholmsky Theological Seminary .
In 1945 - 1948 he was engaged in missionary and pastoral work in Switzerland among Ukrainian refugees in Geneva , Lausanne , Zurich , Basel , Lugano , Lucerne , Bern , Engelberg and other places.
For two years in Bern he deepened his theological and philosophical knowledge.
Since 1948 he moved to Canada .
On July 5, 1959, he was ordained Bishop of Edmonton and Western Canada .
In 1963 he was elevated to the rank of archbishop .
Since 1975 - Metropolitan of Winnipeg and all of Canada, the First Hierarch of the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church in Canada .
He died on February 2, 1985 in Winnipeg. He was buried there.
