Zalienie parish ( Latvian Zaļenieku pagasts ) is one of the thirteen territorial units of the Jelgava region of Latvia . Located in the west edge. It borders with the Glud , Lielplatone , Vilc and Secular volosts of its territory, the Krimunsk volost of the Dobele region , the Tervetsk and Augstkalns volosts of the Tervet region .

The largest settlements of the volost are: Zalenieki (volost center), Spurgi, Usini and Abgunste.

History
Until 1919, the territory of the Grünhof manor was located on the territory of the current Zalenieki volost . In 1935, the Zalienieka parish of Jelgava County had an area of 114.9 km² with a population of 2,565 inhabitants. In 1945 the Abgunsky, Degsky and Zalenieksky village councils were part of the parish. After the abolition of the volost division in 1949, the Zaleniy Selsovet was successively part of the Elea (1949-1956), Jelgava (1956-1962, 1967-1990) and Dobele (1962-1967) districts.
In 1956, the collective farm. Rainis Zalenieksky village council was attached to the Abgunsky village council. In 1962, the liquidated Abgunsky Village Council was incorporated into the Zalenieksky Village Council. In 1965, part of the territory of the liquidated Degsky Village Council was annexed. In 1967, the collective farm. Lenin joined the Beatsky village council. In 1974, a part of the territory of the collective farm "Zalenieki" of the Gludsky Village Council was annexed. Part of the territory of the Pavasaris collective farm and the Straume collective farm in favor of the Secular Village Council were alienated in favor of the Ausmsky Village Council [2] .
In 1990, the Seed village council was reorganized into a volost. In 2009, at the end of the Latvian administrative-territorial reform, the Zalienka Volost became part of the Jelgava Territory created.
