Biography
By nationality, Azerbaijani [1] . He graduated from Second School . Having won a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad, Huseyn-Zade entered the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University in 1966, graduated from Moscow State University in 1971, and graduated from Moscow State University in 1974 .
In 1975 he defended his thesis under the guidance of S. P. Novikov on the topic “Matrices of intersections of the singularities of functions of two variables” [2] , and in 1991 he became a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences [3] .
Professor, Department of Higher Geometry and Topology, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Moscow State University (since 1996). He also teaches at Independent Moscow University (member of the Academic Council of NMU). Member of the Board of the Moscow Mathematical Society .
Honored Professor of Moscow State University (2012) [4] .
In 1998, S. M. Huseyn-Zade was chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 61st Moscow Mathematical Olympiad.

- " Functional analysis and its applications ";
- Editor (together with Yu. S. Ilyashenko and M. A. Tsfasman ) of the international Moscow Mathematical Journal , published by the Independent University of Moscow .
Scientific activity
The field of scientific interests of S. M. Huseyn-Zade includes the theory of singularities and the topology of algebraic spaces. S. M. Huseyn-Zade is the author of more than 120 publications in pure and applied mathematics, of which 4 are monographs.
