Biography
In 1971, he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Gorky State University , then taught for a year at Kuibyshev University . The next four years he worked at the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics at Gorky University. Since 1984, having graduated from the graduate school of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov , he taught at the Gorky University (since 1990 - Nizhny Novgorod) University: Assistant Professor of the Mathematics Department of the Radio Physics Faculty, Associate Professor of the Theory of Functions of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, invited teacher at the Higher School of General and Applied Physics (base department of the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Physics of Microstructures of the Russian Academy of Sciences).
He participated in the work of the jury of city math olympiads, read lectures to schoolchildren in summer physics and mathematics schools.
He loved music, in his youth was a jazz pianist. Gathered a large DVD-collection of jazz, movies and computer programs.
After the death of A.V. Abrosimov, his students and colleagues (including a professor at Moscow State University, UNN and foreign universities) compiled an obituary , which the university journal Vestnik NNUU refused to print. However, the journal Notices of the American Mathematical Society published a brief obituary with a photo and a list of selected works by AV Abrosimov.
Family
Father - Viktor Nikolaevich Abrosimov, worked in the divisions of the Gorky Railway.
Mother - Evgeniya Andreevna Volodina, had three higher educations, worked on the Gorky Railway.
Scientific Activities
In 1984 he defended his thesis on the topic "Complex differential systems and tangential Cauchy-Riemann equations" (headed by Professor B. V. Shabbat ).
Main areas of research:
- complex analysis and geometry, in particular, the geometry of CR-manifolds. Investigated overdetermined systems of partial differential equations and applied the technique developed by him to the problems of complex analysis and geometry. AV Abrosimov proved that holomorphic automorphisms of a quadric of codimension two are realized by birational transformations of degree two; demonstrated the capabilities of differential algebra in CR-geometry; proved that under certain general conditions, the stabilizer of a point in the automorphism group of a quadric in Cn is some linear group; one of the first to begin the study of the class of varieties of the CR-dimension one, which still remains the object of active study.
