Val Martello ( Italian. Val Martello , Ger . Martelltal ) is a valley in the Italian province of Bolzano . Oriented from north to south, starts from the village of Lachez and stretches for 30 km. In the north it adjoins the valley of the Adige River. It belongs to the Finschgau valley system in the western part of South Tyrol.

The valley was first mentioned in 1280 as “ Martel ”. According to some researchers, the name comes from the Latin " Martellum " - the hammer of the miners .
