Childhood and adolescence
Melis Asanalievich Eshimkanov was born on December 9, 1962 in the village of Kazarman, Toguz-Torousky District, Jalal-Abad Region of the Kyrgyz Republic . He grew up in the city of Frunze . His father Asanaly Eshimkanov was a doctor, his mother Saadat was a nurse. In 1985 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Kyrgyz State University. 50th anniversary of the USSR (now - Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn).
Labor Activity
He began his career in 1979 as a transporter of the 3rd category of the Instrument Engineering Plant named after 50th anniversary of the Kirghiz SSR.
From 1979 to 1980, he worked as an installer of the scenery of the 2nd category of the Republican television center.
After graduating from the university in 1985, he worked as an editor-in-chief for youth broadcasting by the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting of the Kyrgyz SSR.
From 1985 to 1989 - own correspondent, head of the Leninchil Zhash newspaper department of the Organ of the Central Committee of the Leninist Young Communist League of Kyrgyzstan.
From 1989 to 1990, she worked as executive secretary of the newspaper Komsomolets of Kyrgyzstan, Komsomol.
1990–1991 - Instructor of the ideological department of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan.
In 1991, he was the chief editor of the Zhashtyk Zharchysy newspaper of the Central Committee of Young Communist Youth of Kyrgyzstan. Then he privatized this former Komsomol youth newspaper, calling the newspaper Asaba.
As is known, after an unsuccessful putsch ( GKChP ) in Moscow in August 1991, Kyrgyzstan banned the activities of the CPSU and the Komsomol on the territory of the republic (September 1991). The property of former Komsomol members was privatized during 1991-92.

In November 2007, he was appointed Director General of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic - NTRC .
On November 6, 2009 he was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Development Fund of Kyrgyzstan. This fund was under the direct influence of Maxim Bakiyev , the son of the then president of Kyrgyzstan.
As a result of the people's revolution on April 7, 2010, this fund was liquidated.
Then for some time Melis Eshimkanov retired from politics.
In September 2011, Eshimkanov was going to start publishing a new independent newspaper, which he planned to call “Bayagy Asaba”.

He was one of the active participants in the first people's revolution on March 24, 2005, which overthrew the regime of Askar Akayev.
