The Botanical Garden in Poitiers ( French: Jardin des Plantes de Poitiers ), covering an area of 1.5 hectares , is a municipal park and botanical garden located in Poitiers , the capital of the Poitou Charentes region , at 1 rue du Jardin des Plantes. It is open daily for free entry.

The very first Botanical Garden in Poitiers was founded in 1621 by Pascal Le Coca, dean of the Faculty of Medicine. The garden was moved 8 times before in 1869 it was built on the site of the central hospital, where it is currently located.
Today the park is equipped as a landscape park with winding paths, which also has a pond , a waterfall and a grotto . The park features more than a hundred varieties of trees and shrubs, among which there are interesting varieties of Atlas cedar , Himalayan cedar , persimmon , Ginkgo , stone oak , pyramidal oak , giant sequoia and bog cypress .
The Botanical Garden was created at the initiative of medical professors to educate students. It contains 30 beds (1700 m²) with marked plants surrounded by a larger fenced collection of plants (4800 m²). In a tropical greenhouse (200 m²), built anew in 1994, 145 plants were planted, among which there are bromeliads , cacti and several types of orchids .
