Twenty-five thousandths are workers of large industrial centers of the USSR , which, pursuant to the decision of the Communist Party, were directed to economic and organizational work in collective farms in the early 1930s , during the period of collectivization of agriculture [1] .
History
In November 1929, at a plenary session of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of the Bolsheviks , a decree “On the Results and Further Tasks of Collective Farm Construction” was adopted, according to which it was decided to send 25,000 “advanced” urban workers to collective farms and MTS for “management of the created collective farms and state farms ” [ 2] . This decision resonated among the workers . Both party organizations and directly labor collectives took part in the selection of volunteers , discussing the applications received at the factory and workshop meetings.
As a result of the organized campaign, 27 519 people were selected and sent to work on collective farms. Of the 23,409 twenty-five-thousanders with questionnaire data, men made up 92.3%, women - 7.7%; Communists - 69.9%, Komsomol members - 8.6%, non - partisans - 21.5%; production experience: up to 5 years - 13%, 5-12 years - 39%, over 12 years - 48%; about 16 thousand twenty five thousandths were in the union of metalworkers . Taking into account the complete unpreparedness of these people as leaders in the field of agriculture and agronomy, special courses were created for their initial preparation for work in the village. Part of twenty-five thousandths was sent to state farms for 2-3 months of practice, after which the majority of twenty-five thousandths were sent directly to collective farms of the main grain regions of the country: Ukraine , the North Caucasus , the lower and middle Volga , the Central Chernozem region and other regions of the USSR.
