Abemus chloropterus

Abemus chloropterus (lat.) - a species of beetle insects from the staphilinid family. Distributed in southeastern Northern Europe and southeastern Europe , as well as in France (noted in the city of Compiègne and the commune of Fontainebleau ) and on the Balkan Peninsula [2] [3] .

Description

The adult body length is approximately 7.5 mm [4] . Elytra green. The head and pronotum are golden-bronze. The beetles are completely covered with shiny hairs [2] . Anterior margin of pronotum in 20 bristle-shaped bulges [4] . Antennae reach middle legs [5] .

Ecology

Representatives of the species are quite rare, in dense forests with beech and oak , as well as in mountain meadows [2] , in woodlands [6] and flooded plains [7] . Adults are found in spring. Agile predators feeding on invertebrate larvae [2] .
