History
CFU originates from the " anti-revisionist " group in the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), which left the party against the background of the Soviet-Chinese split and formed in 1964 in the Organization of Marxist-Leninists of Greece . The latter published the monthly magazine Anagennisi (Revival) and the weekly newspaper Lycos Dromos (The People’s Way).
In 1976, the Maoists created the Communist Party of Greece (Marxist-Leninist) , and in 1984 - A / Synechia (Α / συνεχεια-not / continued). The current CFU is the successor to A / Synechia. The party press of the latter was called “Aristera!” (“Left”!). Its first issue was published in February 1996, and the last in January 2010. Since February 2010, CFU has been publishing the Dromos Tis Aristeras (Left Way) newspaper together with another left-wing party, also part of the Coalition of Radical Left (SYRIZA), KEDA (Movement for the Unity of Left Action); however, most newspaper employees are non-partisan. Well-known foreign authors also collaborate with the newspaper, for example, the Mummy of Abu-Jamal , José Maria Sison and the political cartoonist Carlos Latuff .
