The antlers

The Antlers was originally a solo project by vocalist and guitarist Peter Silberman. He independently wrote the first two albums of the project: Uprooted and In the Attic of the Universe . After Michael Lerner and Darby Cicci became members, The Antlers became a band. Together they recorded two mini-albums: Cold War and New York Hospitals . The songs, written by Silberman, composed the full-length Hospice album, released independently in March 2009 and re-released on August 18 of that year on Frenchkiss Records, after the musicians signed a contract with this company. The album received positive reviews from critics and was included in the lists of the best albums of the year in several editions.

In 2010, The Antlers performed at the Primavera Sound festivals in Barcelona, ​​Osheaga in Montreal, Lollapalooza in Chicago and played with The National .

In 2011, Burst Apart released the album: May 9 in Europe and Japan on Transgressive Records and the next day in the USA on Frenchkiss Records.
