In April 2015, work began on the territory of the municipality of Errameliuri to prevent erosion of the coast of Tiron, for which over 220 thousand euros were allocated [4] .

Hydrology
The river is 63 km long. The basin area is 1270 km², of which 649 km² falls on the territory of the province of Rioja, and 621 km² - on the province of Burgos [3] [5] . The average annual water flow rate is 5.1 m³ / s (at the NP Cuscurrita de Rio Tiron ) [3] .
The sources of the river are located above 1600 m above sea level [1] , on the northern slopes of the western part (Sierra de San Milan [6] ridge) of the Sierra de la Demanda massif . Within the province of Burgos flows through the territory of the mosquito Montes de Oca . From the source in the south of the municipality of Fresneda de la Sierra Tiron to the confluence of the creek, Montelaselada flows to the northeast, then turns to the northwest. At the confluence of the Pradoluengo (below Villagalijo ) turns north. A little higher than Belorado (near San Miguel de Pedroso ), the northeast is gradually becoming the main direction of the current. After the confluence of Ea , it flows mainly to the east to the mouth [7] [8] [6] . It falls into the Ebro at the eastern edge of the city of Aro at an altitude of 437 m [2] .

The largest tributary, Okha (Glera [7] ), flows into Tyrone on the left in the lower reaches, and also connects to it with a channel at Cuscurrita de Rio-Tyrone [5] .

Climate
According to observations from 1975 to 2002, the average annual rainfall in the Tyrone River Basin is 664 mm, decreasing from the south (869 mm) to the north (516 mm). The average annual temperature ranges from 6.5–7 ° C in the upper reaches of the Urbion, Tirion and Okha rivers to 12.5–13 ° C in the lower reaches of the basin. The highest temperatures are in July and August, the lowest - in December and January [5] .
Population
As of 2005, 32 thousand people (27 people / km²) lived within the boundaries of the Tyrone River Basin [9] . The following settlements are located by the Tiron River (from source to mouth): Fresneda de la Sierra Tiron , San Vicente del Valle , Santa Olalla del Valle , Villagalijo , Escerra , San Miguel de Pedroso , Belorado , Fresno de Riotiron , Cereso de Riotiron , Tormantos , Leiva , Herrameliuri , Ochanduri , Cuscurrita de Rio Tyrone , Tirgo , Siuri , Angusyan and Aro [5] [7] [8] [6 ] ] .
