Hydrology

The river is 63 km long. The basin area is 1270 km², of which 649 km² falls on the territory of the province of Rioja, and 621 km² - on the province of Burgos [3] [5] . The average annual water flow rate is 5.1 m³ / s (at the NP Cuscurrita de Rio Tiron ) [3] .

The average water discharge (m³ / s) of the Tyrone River for months from 1951 to 2002, measurements were taken at the village of Cuscurrita de Rio-Tyrone [3]

The sources of the river are located above 1600 m above sea level [1] , on the northern slopes of the western part (Sierra de San Milan [6] ridge) of the Sierra de la Demanda massif . Within the province of Burgos flows through the territory of the mosquito Montes de Oca . From the source in the south of the municipality of Fresneda de la Sierra Tiron to the confluence of the creek, Montelaselada flows to the northeast, then turns to the northwest. At the confluence of the Pradoluengo (below Villagalijo ) turns north. A little higher than Belorado (near San Miguel de Pedroso ), the northeast is gradually becoming the main direction of the current. After the confluence of Ea , it flows mainly to the east to the mouth [7] [8] [6] . It falls into the Ebro at the eastern edge of the city of Aro at an altitude of 437 m [2] .

Tributaries

The largest tributary, Okha (Glera [7] ), flows into Tyrone on the left in the lower reaches, and also connects to it with a channel at Cuscurrita de Rio-Tyrone [5] .
