History
The tramway in Gorlovka was opened by the third (after Stalino and Makeyevka) in the Donetsk region on November 7, 1932 by two motor and two trailed cars X on route No. 1 2.5 km long “Station - House of Soviets” along Sovetsky Avenue (now - Ave. Lenin).
On June 27, 1933, the line was extended from the House of Soviets to Mine No. 5 named after Lenin through the Straw Beam, Route No. 1 “Train Station - Mine No. 5”.
On November 15, 1933, the line was extended by 5.0 km from the bridge over the railway to the Korsun group of mines (Mine No. 8), route No. 2 “House of Soviets - Mine No. 8” was launched.
On January 1, 1934, the line was extended from mine No. 8 through the chemical plant Sintez (now Stirol JSC) to Voenvod (Novogorlovka), route No. 2 House of Soviets-Voenvod.
On May 3, 1934, a new line was introduced to the Kirov Machine-Building Plant, and route 3, House of Soviets-Kirov Plant, was launched.
In 1934, the second rails were completed on Sovetsky Avenue, a depot was built, and a reversal ring was built near the station.
On December 7, 1934, a new line was introduced from Mine No. 5 named after Lenin through Zheleznyansky Rates to Mine Komsomolets, route No. 1 “Station - Mine Komsomolets” was extended.

On May 25, 1936, a new line was introduced from the Komsomolets mine through Mine No. 19-20 to the Mercury Plant, route No. 4 “Mine No. 5 - Mercury Plant” was launched, and Route No. 1 was returned to Mine No. 5: “Station — Mine No. five".

After the liberation of the city, 22 of 28 wagons turned out to be destroyed, the substations, the depot, completely - the rails on routes No. 3 and No. 5, partially - on No. 2 and No. 4.
On May 10, 1944, the line from the Palace of Culture to the Straw Beam was restored (before reaching Mine 5).
In June 1946, the line to mine No. 5, route No. 1 “Palace of Culture - Mine No. 5” was fully restored.
In November 1946, the line from the Palace of Culture to the station was restored, route No. 1 was extended.
In December 1946, the line from mine No. 5 to Zheleznyansky rates was restored, route No. 1 “Station - Zheleznyansky rates” was extended.

In 1947, the line from Zheleznyansky stavki through the Komsomolets mine to mine No. 19-20 was restored, route No. 2 “Mine No. 5 - Mine No. 19-20” was commissioned, and route No. 1 “Station - Mine No. 5” was launched.
On November 7, 1948, the main part of the western (isolated) tramway system of Gorlovka, 8.5 km long , was restored. the bridge over the railway was not restored and 2 tram systems operated in isolation.
In 1949, pivot rings were built on the final route No. 1.

On August 10, 1959, the line from mine No. 19-20 to the mercury plant was restored, route No. 2 was extended: “Mine No. 5 - Mercury Plant”.
In March 1950, a new line was introduced from the station to the village of Maysky, the route No. 1 was extended to “pos. Maisky - Station - Mine number 5 ".
On August 24, 1950, the single-track line from the nitrogen-fertilizer plant to the palace of culture ATZ was restored, route No. 4 was launched.
In December 1950, a new line was introduced from the Palace of Culture ATZ to Vorobiovka, the route No. 4 “Nitrogen-fertilizer plant - Vorobiovka” was extended. Already in 1951, traffic on the line was temporarily suspended due to breakdowns of trams.
In 1953, a reversal ring was built near the market (previously - the “Palace of Culture” bus stop).
On May 27, 1956, the line from the market through the new railway bridge to the Kochergarka mine was restored, two isolated systems were merged, route 3 was moved from the Market to the Nitrogen fertilizer plant, route 5 was launched “Station - Kirov Machine Works”.
In August 1956, a new line was introduced from the Kochegarka mine to Shterovka, route 7 was started (No. 6 was left for the central city tram ring under construction) "Market - Shterovka".
In November 1956, a small urban ring was introduced on the street. Petrovsky, Pushkin, Odessa, Ave. Khrushchev (now Lenin Ave.), route number 6 was launched (counterclockwise). The route “A” was launched in the opposite direction.
At the beginning of 1958, a new single-track line was introduced at the expense of the Ministry of Coal Industry 9.2 km long “Novogorlovka - Kalinin Mine”, route No. 8 “Mine No. 8 (Nitrogen Plant) - Kalinin Mine” was launched.
In 1958, built the second way in the city center along the avenue. Khrushchev, and in 1960 - from the center to the Nitrogen fertilizer plant.

In 1961, built the second way to Zheleznyanskih stavki, as well as a reversal ring. In 1967 a new depot (No. 2) was built for 100 places.
August 30, 1964 introduced a new ring line on the street. Pushkinskaya and Dimitrov Boulevard, route number 6 was started there.
In the 1960s, route number 5 was launched to the market.
In 1967, the second paths to the Kalinin mine were built.
In 1967, the movement of trams from mine No. 19-20 to the Mercury Plant was closed, route No. 2: “Zheleznyansky Bets - Mine No. 19-20”, and route No. 1: “The station (village Maysky) - Zheleznyansky Bets”.
In 1968 route number 4 was closed.

In 1972, a new line from Blvd. Dimitrova Ave. Lenin, st. Bagration and Rudakov until the 245th quarter, routes No. 5 and No. 7 were opened there from the center (market).
On September 23, 1972, the movement from the Kochegarka Mine to the Kirov Machine-Building Plant was closed, route 5 changed the final one: “245th quarter - Nitrogen-fertilizer plant (Styrol software).”
In April 1978, the movement from Zheleznyansky stavki to mine No. 19-20 was closed, route No. 2 was closed.
In May 1980, the rails were removed from Blvd. Dimitrov and part of the street. Pushkinskaya: a large ring was dismantled, route No. 6 was moved: “245th quarter - Bus station (a small roundabout counterclockwise)”, route A remained a small roundabout clockwise.
In the 1980s , the route no. 3 also became a circular one: “Center (ring counterclockwise) -“ Styrene ”software”.

On March 4, 1998, routes No. 3 and No. 5 were closed, and route No. 8 began to work from the city center: “Center (ring counter-clockwise) - Kalinin Mine”.
On September 20, 2001, seasonal (June-October) route No. 2, Zheleznyanskye Rates - Wholesale Market (located near the Kirov Machine-Building Plant), was launched.
On December 16, 2002, the ring route A was closed, the contact network in a clockwise direction was removed.

On November 1, 2005, route 6 was closed due to the small passenger traffic.
In October 2009, the second seasonal route No. 2a “245th quarter - Wholesale Market” was introduced.
On May 25, 2010, the ring route A was restored, and route No. 8 was launched up to the 245th quarter.
On September 14, 2010 due to a shortage of wagons and theft of trolley routes 2, 2A, A. were closed.
On September 1, 2011, route No. 3 “Center (ring counterclockwise) - Wholesale Market” was opened. But this route did not last long and was soon closed.
On July 22 [1] 2014, the tram movement was stopped due to the fighting for an indefinite period.
September 26, 2014 the tram movement was restored.
