Selpils parish ( Latvian. Sēlpils pagasts ) is one of the two territorial units of the Salsky Krai of Latvia . It borders on the Salskaya volost of its region, the Sunakst and Staburag volosts of the Jaunjelgava region , the Viesita volost of the Viesita region , the Krustpils volost of the Krustpils region , the city of Pляavinias and the Klintaina volost of the Pляavi region .

The largest settlements of the volost are: Celia (volost center), Arbidani, Bisenieki, Bitankalns, Buyvani, Ezertziems, Gretes, Jaunselpils, Kleberkalns, Likumi, Naudizani, Pavuli, Plateri, Plites, Priekshani, Pulani Spani Riesti Riesti Riesti Riesti, Ripesti Ridi, Vetscelpils, Zakeni.
The following rivers flow through the territory of the volost: Daugava , Pikster, Rudzayte, Pukyupite, Akmeniupite and there are lakes Baltinyuezers and Vikuezers.
History
In 1945, Jaunselpils, Selpils and Staburagsky village councils were created in the Selpils county of Jekabpils county . After the abolition of the Selpils volost in 1949, the Selpils village council became part of the Jekabpils district . In 1954, the territory of the abolished Ezersky Village Council was annexed to the Selpils Village Council, in 1971 - part of the territory of the Barnavas Village Council [2] . In 1990, the village council was reorganized into a volost. In 2009 , at the end of the Latvian administrative-territorial reform, Selpils and Salskaya volosts became part of the Salsky Krai.
